VETERANS ADVANCING IN HEALTH & FITNESS CAREERS WITH EXCELLENCE

Purpose Beyond the Uniform: How the University of Health & Performance Supports Veterans

At the University of Health & Performance (UHP), we believe in empowering veterans to discover their purpose beyond their time in service.

Located in the heart of the Ozark Mountains, our campus is designed to provide veterans with the tools and training they need to transition successfully into civilian careers, particularly in the health and fitness industries.

Our mission was recently spotlighted in a special segment by KNWA’s “Veterans Voices” series. This feature highlights the transformative impact of UHP’s programs and the stories of veterans who discover a purpose beyond the uniform and find a sense of direction through their time with us.

A Transformative Experience

As KNWA’s feature reveals, UHP isn’t just about education; it’s about building a supportive community where veterans can thrive. From our immersive Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) courses to our holistic focus on mental, physical, and emotional wellness, we are dedicated to helping veterans rebuild their confidence and skillsets for the next phase of their lives.

Whether veterans dream of becoming fitness trainers, or entrepreneurs, or simply want to lead healthier, more balanced lives, UHP provides the resources and environment they need to succeed.

Green Beret Foundation and University of Health & Performance Announce Transformative Partnership to Support Veterans

The Green Beret Foundation (GBF) and the University of Health & Performance (UHP) are proud to announce a strategic partnership aimed at empowering Green Berets as they transition from military service to civilian careers. Together, these organizations are committed to fostering personal and professional growth for veterans through UHP’s innovative Patriot Pathway program, designed to upskill veterans and enhance their leadership potential within civilian workplaces.

A Legacy of Service and Support

Since its founding in 2009, the Green Beret Foundation has served as a critical resource for active-duty and former Green Berets, offering comprehensive programs to assist them and their families in navigating the unique challenges of military life and transition. GBF provides a range of services, including health and wellness support, career transition assistance, and educational opportunities.

The University of Health & Performance, based in Arkansas, is a leading institution dedicated to redefining education for veterans and civilians through health, fitness, and purpose-driven leadership training. Known for its immersive approach to education, UHP’s programs equip participants with the skills and mindset needed to excel in civilian life, including the groundbreaking Patriot Pathway program.

Patriot Pathway: A Bridge to Civilian Success

At the heart of this partnership is UHP’s Patriot Pathway, a specialized course designed to support veterans as they transition into the civilian workforce or advance within their current roles. The program provides veterans with hands-on, transformative experiences in physical, mental, and leadership development tailored to meet the needs of today’s corporate landscape. Through Patriot Pathway, corporations also gain access to highly skilled, motivated leaders who are uniquely equipped to make an immediate impact.

A Shared Vision for Growth

By combining GBF’s expertise in serving Green Berets with UHP’s innovative approach to education and personal development, this partnership aims to create unparalleled opportunities for veterans. Together, the organizations will work to:

  • Empower Veterans: Equip former Green Berets with the skills, confidence, and support needed to thrive in civilian careers.
  • Build Community: Strengthen connections among veterans and their civilian counterparts, fostering shared growth and understanding.
  • Upskill Leaders: Provide corporations with veteran employees who are equipped to lead, innovate, and inspire.

Voices of Leadership

“The Green Beret Foundation is honored to partner with the University of Health & Performance to support our transitioning Green Berets. The Patriot Pathway program serves as an exceptional capstone event for our Next Ridgeline 2.0 Program, building on a comprehensive foundation that includes VA Claims & Benefits, Health and Wellness, Family Support, Financial Readiness, and Find Your Next Ridgeline—guiding participants in defining their personal and professional goals. Together, these offerings ensure our Green Berets are equipped with the skills and confidence needed to excel in civilian life while continuing to lead with purpose.”
Charlie Iacono, President & CEO of Green Beret Foundation

“Green Berets embody resilience, discipline, and leadership,” said Matt Hesse, Founder and CEO of the University of Health & Performance. “We are honored to collaborate with the Green Beret Foundation to help these incredible individuals transition into civilian life with the tools, training, and purpose to make a lasting impact.”

Looking Ahead

This partnership signals the beginning of a shared commitment to helping Green Berets thrive in the next chapter of their lives. By addressing the unique challenges veterans face during the transition, UHP and GBF aim to create an enduring impact for veterans, their families, and the organizations they serve.
